Privacy Policy

Hivesmith is a beekeeping record app — your hives, queens, brood, mite counts, feeding, harvests and inspections — built and operated by Loadcircle Ltd. This policy explains what the app handles and why. The short version: everything stays on your device, and the app has no network access at all.

1. Data we handle

• Your hive records — hives, queens, inspections, brood, mite counts, feeding, harvests, notes and dates. These are stored in the app's private storage on your device. We do not collect them on any server.
• Photos you add — chosen through Android's own photo picker or handed to your phone's camera app, then stored in the app's private storage on your device. Hivesmith never receives access to your photo library, only to the individual images you pick.
• No accounts, no login — nothing to sign up for, no profiles, and no personal details.
• Reminders — notifications are scheduled locally on your device; no reminder data leaves it.
• The record book subscription — if you subscribe, the purchase is made and processed entirely by Google Play. We never see or receive your name, email address or card details. Hivesmith runs no server of its own; your subscription status is held by Google Play and read on your device by Google's Play Billing library. • No ads, no analytics, no tracking, no crash reporting — the app contains no advertising, analytics or crash-reporting SDKs, and it does not request or use the Advertising ID.

2. Permissions

Hivesmith requests no runtime permissions at all. It cannot read your files, your contacts, your location or your photo library. To photograph a frame or a hive label it hands the job to your phone's own camera app and receives only the image you choose to attach.

3. The app has no network access

Hivesmith is built without the Android internet permission, so it cannot send your data anywhere even if it wanted to. There is no account to sync, no cloud copy and no analytics ping. The only network activity that can occur is Google Play's own billing service processing a subscription you choose to buy — handled by Google, not by us.

4. What we never do

We do not sell your data, build advertising profiles, or require personal information to use the core product. We cannot read your hive records: they never reach us.

5. Backups and exports

You can export your record book as a PDF or CSV, and back up your data to a file, from Settings. Those files are created on your device and saved wherever you choose to put them. Once a file has left the app it is outside our control and yours to look after, so treat an exported record book as you would any other document containing your apiary records.

6. Data deletion

Because your records and photos are stored on your device, uninstalling Hivesmith — or using "Delete all data" in Settings — removes them. There is nothing further to request from us. A subscription is managed by Google Play, and cancelling it stops future charges.

7. Children

Hivesmith is not directed at children, and you must be at least 18 (or the age of legal majority where you live) to purchase a subscription.

8. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the updated policy.
